Edward Box
Edward Box opened the first family Butcher shop in Lambton in 1908 - just around the corner from where our shop is now!
Alfred Lydney Payne
Alfred Lydney Payne and a number of generations of the Payne family operated the Elder Street butcher shop until it was sold in 1993. Originally opperating on the other side of the road where the Pharmacy is currently located, it is unclear how many years the business opperated here until it was transferred to our current building at 108 Elder Street. There is some discrepancies in the exact locations and dates of the original shop location. For more information on the Payne occupation, click here.
The Craft Butcher
Current owners Sam & Steph took over the lease at 108 Elder Street in July 2022 with the intention of murging traditional and new age butchery. Since then, we have retained our loyal local customers from Lambton and surrounds, and introduced a number of exciting new services and products such as dry aged meats, cuts of sore 9+ wagyu & an array of home cooked meals.
